Wonderful thoughts again, Pat!

What I wonder about this Mayan calander thing is how they calculated the 2012 date. From what I understood of their culture, they used a totally different calander than we do today so I'm guessing someone in OUR TIME had to calculate it so it would correspond to OUR calander. Otherwise, how could this culture be indicating 'the end' is in the year 2012 if they never even knew about the birth of Christ (B.C and A.D.).

Even today, some cultures in other parts of the world have 'years' that are of different lengths than OUR years.

Yes, I also believe, as you do, that it may be a time of trials and tribulation but I feel that people have alot more to learn than can be learned in a mere 24 month period. We simply aren't 'there' yet (wherever 'there' is). I know I'm not because I'm still travelling and learning every single day.

Well said Pat. You have so many good points, its hard for me to pick out my favorite part. I too agree that God is hope and light. I believe our darkest times are when we are not seeking that hope and light.
